Winter Holiday Party - RSVP HERE for the 2011 Party

Winter Holiday party

Join UPS for DownS families as we celebrate the holidays with song, food and even a special surprise visit from Santa himself. Our annual Holiday Party has evolved from just a small get together into a grand banquet of flavorful food.  Enjoy an old fashioned pot luck luncheon as each family brings a dish. UPS for DownS provides the main course and beverages.  Santa calls upon each family and makes sure that those little one’s get the gift they are longing for.

This is a great opportunity to meet and greet other families. Our holiday party is held on the second Sunday in December from 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM.  You MUST RSVP for your child to receive a gift!

Why does my friend with Down Syndrome act differently than other kids?

People with Down syndrome have difficulty with language and talking.  Many kids want to interact and play with their friends, but don't know how, are afraid they won't be understood, or afraid they will be told "no, you can't play". Some kids with Down syndrome get overwhelmed when too many things are going on at the same time.

Do people with Down syndrome have feelings?

Yes. Just like everyone, people with Down syndrome have feelings. They can feel happy, silly, sad, sorry, or upset - just like you. People with Down syndrome enjoy friends and family and can be hurt when someone teases or makes fun of them - just like you.
